20+ years combined professional and personal experience providing private, in-home care to children 0-16
14 years experience as a step parent
5 years daycare experience
Step 9 of 12 on Oregon Registry
600+ hours early child education
Basic knowledge of American Sign Language
Ability to problem solve
Able to pass a background check
Capable of understanding all physical and emotional requirements involved with early childhood settings
Experienced working in fast paced environments
Trained and 11 years experience in using Positive Discipline
Experience helping children recognize and handle difficult emotions

Strengths

Adaptability - As an experienced nanny I have worked for many families and each family has their own ideas on how to raise their children. I understand that these ideals may differ from my own. I am able to work with each of my families to support their personal values even if they differ from my own.

Flexibility - I understand that "life happens," and scheduling may need to change. I try to accommodate all of my families the best I can. This includes working earlier, later, or on a scheduled day off, when my schedule allows. I also understand that life with children can be unpredictable. Though I try to keep a schedule and plan activities for the day I understand that sometimes this may not happen. In cases like this I have been able to rearrange our day to better accommodate everyone's needs.
